Hi! My name is Stasia, and I have a talent for making people uncomfortable.
It’s not that I'm an in-your-face type of person, I just seems that I do things that make people uncomfortable. I have no qualms talking about sex. I swear like it's my job. And I don't need to be at the club to break out into the occasional dance. Sometimes I feel like I’m the friend who is in that weird show that you don’t really wanna go to, but you politely sit through (possibly in agony?) waiting for it to be done.
For a while, I’ve honestly felt bad about being me. No matter how little fucks you give about the opinions of others, it can still be a little embarrassing to realize the way you act or the things you say occasionally make other people uncomfortable. I’ve felt really guilty and sometimes beat myself up over it. But, I have a problem with acting the way society deems acceptable, instead of just being ME. And I don't know why "FUCK" has become such a taboo word. I mean, it's just a word. I sprinkle it into just about every sentence, and I don't have to be angry to do so. I love to dance, and I don't care if I'm in the frozen foods section of Vons. If it's a catchy tune, I'll rock out to it. (Not that supermarket music is something to generally rock out to, but you get my point..)
You see, life does not get better or more exciting or even more bearable when we conform to society and stay strictly in our comfort zone. If we all stayed in what is our little box of beliefs and values and experiences, then we would all live very boring lives. I promise.
I am a million percent happy to be that weird girl if it means that someone, somewhere questions a notion that they had before or discovers something that they like or believe in. I do it all the time! I try not to let anything shock or offend me because if I’ve never heard of it, I probably want to!
Learning is uncomfortable. Growing is uncomfortable. And I won't apologize for NOT being boring.
